Mongolian Beef
Ingredients:
1 lb flank steak, sliced into thin strips
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tbsp vegetable oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch piece of ginger, peeled and minced
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
2 green onions, chopped
Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
In a bowl, coat the sliced flank steak with cornstarch, shaking off any excess.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the coated steak to the skillet and stir-fry until browned and crispy. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and ginger, and sauté for a minute until fragrant.
In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, and water until well combined.
Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet and bring to a simmer.
Add the cooked steak back to the skillet and toss to coat it with the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
Serve the Mongolian Beef over steamed rice or noodles.
